Carlo X. Alvarez
Founder and President
Carlo X. Alvarez is a former college and major league strength and conditioning coach specializing in performance enhancement training for athletes. A noted authority on sports conditioning, Carlo is recognized for his integrated and systematic approach to training, based on a foundation of safe and proven methodology that has direct and measurable benefits to performance and wins. Coach Alvarez has a long and successful track record based on a proven system that generates results. His commitment to helping athletes excel is demonstrated by his individualized, hands-on instruction and implementation standard of quality vs. quantity.
Carlo Alvarez began his coaching career at his alma mater, the University of Cincinnati. From there he became Strength and Conditioning Coach at St. Xavier High School in Cincinnati, where he implemented innovative and successful programs. In 1998 Carlo headed for South Bend to the University of Notre Dame under the tutelage of coach Mickey Marotti. For the Fighting Irish, Carlo evaluated, designed and implemented programs for both male and female varsity athletes.
Carlo left the University of Notre Dame to become the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Cleveland Indians under Head Strength and Conditioning Coach, Fernando Montes. Carlo was responsible for developing player training plans and coordinating Latin American athletic development programs and internships. In 2002, he became the Head Strength and Conditioning Coordinator for the Cincinnati Reds, responsible for the major league, minor league and Latin American operations. During his tenure with the Reds, he developed one of the most comprehensive and recognized athletic development programs in Major League Baseball and Latin America. Carlo currently works as the strength and conditioning coordinator for the 2005 Division I Ohio State Football Champions, St. Xavier High School.
Carlo Alvarez is a recognized leader in athletic performance for developing and implementing unique, breakthrough concepts in high performance training. His dedication, study of exercise and athletic performance enhancement has taken him across the country, as well as to Latin America and the Caribbean. He is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association, American College of Sports Medicine, International Sports Science Association, and USA Weightlifting
Ron Hatten
Ron holds a B.S. in Exercise Science with a minor in coaching from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He is currently the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at St. Xavier High School, home of the 2007 Division I Ohio State Football Champions. He also works with the lacrosse, baseball, hockey, and wrestling programs. He also serves as the Wellness Coordinator at St. Xavier for the staff and faculty. Additionally, he is a fitness instructor for the Parks and Recreation Department with the city of Fairfield, Ohio. He is a member of the National Strength and Conditioning Association and SPARQ Trainers Network.
Adam Rankin
Adam holds a B.S. in Health Sciences with a focus in sports and biomechanics from the University of Cincinnati. For the past three years, he has been the Strength & Conditioning Coach at Cincinnati Elder High School, developing and implementing strength, conditioning, speed and agility programs for the Athletic Department. Adam spent three years working as a strength and conditioning intern for the Cincinnati Reds, with primary emphasis on player training plans, rehabilitation, workout supervision and facility management. He brings depth and breadth of experience in player performance programs after working strength and conditioning camps in major collegiate Division I programs such as: the University of Notre Dame, Michigan State, University of Cincinnati and the University of Tennessee.
